Also known as a deep pocket sheet, a deep fitted sheet is a larger fitted sheet used on mattresses 12 inches or thicker. How much elastic for a fitted sheet? On mattresses such as a pillow top, normal-sized sheets might not fit in which case a deep fitted sheet with elastic corners is perfect.
How many inches is a deep pocket fitted sheet? Compared to regular sheets, deep pocket fitted sheets average 15 inches while extra deep pockets average 16 – 22 inches. In some situations, even a mattress pad or cover could increase the thickness enough where a deep fitted sheet is needed.

Step 1: Every fitted sheet should have a tag sewn into one of the corners. That tag belongs on the bottom, left corner if you’re laying on your back in the bed.
Step 2: Start on the left corner of the mattress. Wrap the corner of the mattress with your fitted sheet and make sure the elastic bands are underneath the mattress.
Step 3: On the same side of the mattress but at the opposite end repeat step 2 process by wrapping the fitted sheet around your mattress corner.
Step 4: Continued step 2 on the remaining corners and snug up any loose corners as you see fit.
How Many Fitted Sheets For A Crib?
As a new parent, we know how it feels to have this question. We recommend having three fitted sheets for a crib to cut back on doing laundry. One of the crib, one in the wash and one as a spare.
